DCD777C2 vs DCD771C2

After reviewing the table above, you probably realized there isn’t much difference between the two models.

Besides the change of one digit in the model number, the only significant differences seem to be the revolutions per minute, power output, and the weight of the tools.

The DCD777C2 is lighter than the DCD771C2 by 0.1lbs, which doesn’t make a whole lot of difference.

The other difference, the revolutions per minute, or RPM, doesn’t seem to be that much of an upgrade either.

In terms of battery life UWO, the DCD777C2 seems to be actually be a downgrade and not an upgrade. Not by much, but if you’re wanting to stretch the battery life out to its max then the DCD771C2 is already looking better in this respect.

Everything else seems to be equal, including the accessories included with the drill which include two 20V batteries, charger and bag.

So which one should you choose?

The DCD771C2 is cheaper than the DCD777C2 by $10-$20, and you don’t get that much more performance from the DCD777C2. Furthermore, the DCD771C2 consumes less power than the DCD777C2, and thus the battery life is extended.

I’d say that the majority of people would not notice a single difference between the two.

Thus, our recommendation is to choose the DCD771C2 as the value of upgrading doesn’t make sense for the additional cost. If you don’t mind the cost, then go for the DCD777C2.
